2019. 10. 22

Lawrenceburg, Tenn. (October 21, 2019) – Premium tire maker Hankook Tire strengthens its support of U.S. veterans across the country with a $25,000 donation made to Working Dogs for Veterans, a Tennessee-based nonprofit which provides service dogs and training to disabled heroes in need. Working Dogs for Veterans helps empower veterans as they return to civilian life with a newfound independence. Hankook’s donation will go towards the construction of a new facility, a 22-acre property which will be home to a new training course and housing units for the veterans and dogs in training.

The donation was announced at the 2019 Veterans Service Dog Training Event, which took place the weekend of October 19 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. During the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, Hankook Tire’s Vice President of Corporate Strategy Jay Kim presented Working Dogs for Veterans President and Founder Kenneth Knabenshue with a check recognizing Hankook’s support of the organization and ongoing commitment to supporting local veteran organizations and veterans nationwide.

“At Hankook Tire, we are continuously seeking opportunities to give back to the men and women who have served our country,” said Kim. “The company and support of a service animal can be critical to a successful civilian life for many of our veterans. Working Dogs for Veterans seeks to provide that support for veterans transitioning to civilian life, and we are proud to support such an impactful local Tennessee organization and be a part of furthering that mission.”

“We’re incredibly thankful for Hankook’s commitment to America’s veterans and our organization,” said Knabenshue. “We look forward to continuing our work with the help of Hankook’s donation and ensuring that all of the veterans in need of a service animal are able to receive that assistance, and can continue their transition into civilian life with companionship, support and dignity.”
